The story

I'm a street and documentary photographer based in Chicago — most days you'll find me working the light downtown, along the river, or wherever the city hands me a moment worth keeping. I shoot a Fujifilm X-Pro3: small, quiet, rangefinder-style — the kind of camera that lets you get close and stay patient.

A few years ago I fell hard for Vietnam's streets — the density, the colour, the collision of old and new — and couldn't find one good place to see the best of what people were making there. So in 2022 I started Vietnam Streets with Sam Derbyshire and Adrien Jean. What began as an Instagram curation project is now a community of 6,900+ photographers.

I still shoot every week — Chicago at home, Vietnam whenever I can get back. The two cities have nothing and everything in common. That's the whole reason I keep a camera on me.

Usual kit Fujifilm X-Pro3 · 23mm & 35mm · available light

The work

A living edit across two countries. Chicago is home — the light, the shadow lines, the people moving through them. Vietnam is the work that started everything.

Vietnam Streets

What I built

In 2022 I started Vietnam Streets with Sam Derbyshire and Adrien Jean — three photographers who kept finding each other's work and thought Vietnam deserved one place to see the best of it. An Instagram curation project became a community. I run it from Chicago, shoot it whenever I'm back, and it's grown into the thing I'm proudest of.
